Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body and provides the building blocks to support the structural framework that holds everything together, helping to support the health and integrity of our body’s tissues, especially in our muscles, tendons, bones, joints and skin. As we get older, our body becomes less efficient at producing collagen.
There are two main types of collagen peptides VITAL PROTEINS use: - Bovine collagen, sourced from cow hide. - Marine collagen, sourced from fish skin and/or scales.
The recommended daily serve of collagen is 10g per day, to be dissolved in hot or cold fluids such as water, coffee, tea, smoothies and recipes. Our collagen products each have different suggested serving sizes.

The allegations being raised are not in line with our responsible sourcing standard. Vital Proteins has contacted its supplier to investigate this matter and has confirmed that collagen from the BluBrasil tannery will no longer enter its supply chain. Vital Proteins remains focused on engaging its suppliers to continuously improve their sustainability practices across their primary supply chain.
